Instead, last night I caught up with my dad + bro (and his family). One of my pressies?
25kg of English Ale Malt (Whole grain of course).
That's enough for approx 100 litres of beer (give or take).
Time to start prepping everything.
Of course, I will only do 1 or 2 batches for now.. Then it will be put to the side and the beer slowly enjoyed.. Why? Hops season is nearly upon us.
My Pride of Ringwood is growing like it is going out of fashion. Even now after the apparent growing season I am still getting horizontal shoots and flowers are appearing everywhere. The Golding hops has a long way to go, but that's not surprising. First season in the ground. It's still trying to get it's feet down.
Next year, I've been given permission (By the Minister of War, Finance and Recreation) to put 3 more hops plants in.
Strength to strength in this household I tell ya.
