Spanish rice.

INGREDIENTS


2 tablespoons vegetable oil; 1 cup uncooked regular long grain rice; 2 1/2 cups water; 1 1/2 teaspoons salt; 3/4 teaspoons chili powder; 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder; 1 small green pepper, chopped; 1 medium onion, chopped; 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce;



DIRECTIONS


1-   Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Cook rice and onion in oil, stirring frequently, until rice is brown and onion is tender.
2-   Stir in all remaining ingredients and heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low.
3-   Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender, about 30 minutes.
