Meal in one.

This a  nice, hearty dish, for a cold winter night. It's also cardiologist approved.   ;)


2 1/2 pounds ground chuck; 1 pound bacon; 1 bunch of celery, chopped; 3 large onions, chopped; 1/2 teaspoon pepper; 1/2 teaspoon basil; 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder; 3 (10 3/4 ounce) cans tomato soup; 16 ounces sliced American cheese; 2 pounds spaghetti.


1-   Fry bacon until crisp and drain. Brown ground beef in oil in a large skillet and drain.
2-   Combine all ingredients except cheese and spaghetti in a Dutch oven. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender.
3-   Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
4-   Layer ingredients 1/2 of spaghetti in bottom of large broiler pan. Add 1/2 of meat mixture. Top with 1/2 of cheese. Add remaining spaghetti, meat and cheese.
5-   Bake in 350 oven for about 15 minutes
