A BIKIES LIFE
« on: April 20, 2007, 11:59:43 PM »

ON A COLD AND LONELY MORNING
WHEN THE MIST IS LOW AND THICK
YOU HEAR A SOLOM NOISE
AS THE BIKE HE STARTS TO KICK.
PULL THE CHOKE OUT ALL THE WAY,
IN A GRUFF VOICE THIS IS WHAT YOU HEAR HIM SAY

COME ON OLD GIRL DON’T LET ME DOWN TODAY,

I HAVE TO TAKE A LONG RIDE, DOWN BY THE OCEAN SIDE,
THEN THRU THE DUSTY DESERT, I HOPE WE DON’T GET FRIED,
FROM THERE WE HEAD UP NORTH, TO WHERE IT ALWAYS RAINS
IF I DIDN’T LOVE THIS LIFE, I’D SAY I HAD NO BRAINS

ACROSS THE TOP OF MOUNTAINS, THRU VALLEYS FAR BELOW
PASSING ALL THE TREAFFIC, BECAUSE THEY ARE TO SLOW
YOU PASS THE BIG RIG DRIVERS WITH SKILL AND HOPE AND FEAR
ITS DEFINATLY THE END, IF THEY WONDER WAY TOO NEAR
TO LIVE THIS LIFE OF FREEDOM, A LIFE WE ALL LIVE FOR
TO THOSE OF YOU WHO DON’T RIDE , LIFE REALLY IS A BORE

IT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER, WHAT TYPE OF BIKE YOU RIDE
TO HAVE A LIFE THAT’S OUT THERE, IT GIVES A SENCE OF PRIDE
SOMEWHERE IN THE DISTANCE , YOU’LL FIND, WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR,
FAMILY ,MATE,LOVED ONE OR JUST TO SETTLE A SCORE

ANOTHER KICK HE GIVES HER, A COUGH , A SPIRT, A SPLUTTER
A NEIGHBOUR WATCHES CLOSELY, AND THINKS THAT HE’S A NUTTER
EASE UP ON THE CHOKE, AND GIVE HER ONE MORE TRY
AND IF SHE DOENST START, YOU’LL GIVE A LITTLE SIGH

GO IN FOR A COFFEE, AND LET HER SIT AWHILE
ANOTHER KICK IS GIVEN, IT BRINGS A LITTLE SMILE
IT IS NOW THAT SHE IS STARTED, IT ONLY TOOK A WHILE

LET HER WARM HER COLD BONES, JUST HIGHER THAN AN IDLE

BOTH OF YOU ARE READY, TO START YOUR LITTLE TRIP
JUST A FEW MORE MINUTES,OF THE COFFE THAT YOU SIP
PULL THE HELMET ON, AND DO IT UP REAL TIGHT
AS ALL THE NEIGHBOURS IN YOUR STREET,WATCH YOU
RIDE HER OUT OF SIGHT

Captured the essence of what it is to be a rider there Shrek...

Gave me a cold shiver down the spine in parts.

Yesterday I was out riding in the rain (had to see a man about a dog).. got the usual strange looks from joe public thinking I'm a few quid short of a redback...

why do they only want to experience part of what life has to offer?

why do they hide from the weather?
why do they hide from the beating sun?
the wind?
the elements?

why the insulated existence?

I reckon its me who should be giving them the weird looks !!
Work Hard, Play Hard, Stay Hard
