Fires burn in the summer storms
« on: March 26, 2007, 09:19:26 PM »
I sat there in a tin can watching the world before me slide.
Slide right by before my eyes, slide right past my life.

We watched our dreams light up, we watched our dreams burn.
You always loved to throw more wood on the fire to watch the flames
Never did care who got burned.

We loved to smile as the flames grew higher
We loved to laugh as the storms rolled in.

Soon our fire will be out
Soon the storm will hit
Soon we'll duck for cover
But for now we laugh
Later we'll cry.

Fire's all gone now
You know it
I know it
Yet we still keep lighting damp wood.

Let the earth slide beneath us
Let the earth part us
Let the earth take us to where we need to be.

I guess we only ever trade one set of complications for another P1g.

That poem is dedicated to the one person I needed to get away from the most, yet now, miss more than anyone else on the whole planet.

I guess it's the way of the world, we make our choices, they make theirs, we just have to roll with the punches and enjoy it all while it lasts.

I really liked that one mrF

I think alot of people can relate to the mortality of relationships and the futility of "lighting damp wood"...
